We are in contact with several Government departments and are currently investigating the following issues;

RV Registration

We are trying to establish EXACTLY what the existing rules are (as of June 2008) on RV registration - especially those relating to width measurements and accessories inclusion/exclusion.

We have already reported (here) the proposed changes (in 2012) to increase the width to 2.6m and to exempt accessories, but that doesn't explain the situation between now and then.

Driving Licences

We are trying to establish any LEGAL requirement to obtain a Class 2 (HGV) driving licence for large RVs over 7.5t. We still believe the benefits of undertaking a large vehicle driving course outweigh any legal argument against; but we feel the situation does need to be clarified once and for all.

A-Frames and Towing

We are trying to establish the legality of using a-frames and the wider implications of towing behind your RV, without holding a Class 1 driving licence.

Full-Time Insurance

A large number of RVers choose to Full-Time (or Live) in their recreational vehicles. We are trying to find out which insurers offer comprehensive insurance suited to full-timers with or without a "bricks and mortar house".
