In 2007, there was talk of an association being set-up for the benefit of RV owners in the UK, but nothing came of it.

This was because the RV Dealers Association (RVDA) gave assurances that they were lobbying Government departments on behalf of recreational vehicle owners as well as their dealer members.

Unfortunately, the RVDA later decided they did not wish to share information (with RV owners) from talks they've held with the DVLA, VOSA, DfT etc.

Paul Chatwin (the RV Owners Association founding member) tried to encourage the RVDA to provide proof to support various claims they were making; but was eventually banned from the ARVM Forum without warning or just cause.

It became apparent there was no resource available in the UK meeting the specific needs of American Recreational Vehicle owners; so the Official RV Owners Association (UK) was formed.
